People today are becoming more and more power-hungry. Gone are the days when a paraffin lamp was enough to create a cosy atmosphere below deck. Today, televisions, stereos and microwaves are common on many yachts, not to mention the sophisticated navigation electronics.
None of this is a problem if the power socket mooring is connected in the marina. But what about outside in the anchorage? Or on the Atlantic crossing? A generator can help. So that a crew member doesn't have to vacate their bunk, Fischerpanda has created the 4000 series of handy generators that can be accommodated even in confined spaces.
The Panda 4800i Perfect Power rounds off the lower end of the iSeries with consumer-dependent speed control. The model with an output of 4 kW utilises inverter technology. This adapts the diesel engine speed (a Farymann is installed) to the respective consumption situation, but the output voltage should always remain constant thanks to the inverter. According to Fischer Panda, exhaust emissions and fuel consumption are therefore considerably lower than with an equivalent traditional generator with a fixed speed.
Sailors with a corresponding energy requirement have to invest a good 8670 euros for this comfort.
